Make Greek Seasoning

Greek seasoning is a mix of dried herbs and spices that can add a quick Mediterranean flavor to dishes. It is often sold premade at grocery stores, but can easily be made at home for a fraction of the cost. Making your own seasoning blend lets you control the quality of the ingredients, or customize them for your own taste preferences

Instructions

1. Measure out each dried herb carefully and add to a small bowl. Mix with your hands until the seasonings are thoroughly combined.

2. Use a black marker to write the name of the seasoning and the date on a small piece of masking tape, then place the label onto the front of a small jar or spice container. This will help you readily identify the seasoning and prevent you from using it after its expiration date.

3. Pour the Greek seasoning mixture into your small jar or spice container. Secure the lid tightly and gently shake the container to make sure the seasoning is completely mixed.

4. Keep your seasoning in a cool, dry place such as your pantry or a cabinet. Use it within six months or it will begin to lose its flavor.
