Cook Deviled Eggs


Deviled eggs are popular appetizers at celebrations and special events. These tasty treats can be made with little preparation time, and are an excellent last-minute appetizer idea. Deviled eggs can also be easily transported to events, such as social gatherings and picnics. Deviled eggs are a crowd-pleaser, as children and adults alike love this versatile finger food.


Instructions


1. Fill a large pot with cold water and place it on a burner set at medium-high heat.


2. Once the water is boiling, gently add the eggs, one at a time. Consider lowering the eggs into the water with a spoon to avoid breakage. Set the timer for 15 minutes.


3. Pour the boiling water out of the pan and fill it with cold water. Let the hard boiled eggs rest in the cold water for an hour.


4. Carefully peel the eggs. Cut them in half and scoop the yolk into a mixing bowl. Place the egg halves in a deviled egg tray.








5. Mix the egg yolks with a spoon. Spoonful by spoonful, add mayonnaise to form a creamy paste. Stir in a teaspoon of mustard to add a tangy flavor to the egg mixture. Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste.


6. Spoon the yolk mixture into the egg halves, filling them completely. To add a pop of color, sprinkle paprika over the top of the eggs. Garnish the top of each deviled egg with a sliced black olive.
