New Jersey Turkish Restaurants

Common Turkish desserts such as baklava are found in Turkish restaurants in New Jersey.


New Jersey is home to diverse Turkish-American communities and has numerous Turkish restaurants. Turkish food, unlike the cuisines of many of the Middle Eastern countries, include Turkish coffee or tea, a medley of grilled kebabs and seafood, and pastries with all sorts of nuts and spreads.


Beyti Kebab Restaurant


Located in Union City within minutes of the Lincoln Tunnel, Beyti Kebab Restaurant was among the first authentic Turkish restaurants to open in New Jersey. Patrons should make reservations on the weekends due to the popular live entertainment and dancing events. Beyti Kebab restaurant offers take-out, delivery, weekday lunch and dine-in menus. Dishes range from a gyro sandwich to a kebab platter to a meat platter. There are many other dishes to choose from, including eggplant starters and kebabs served on toasted, buttered bread with yogurt. Delivery is free with a minimum order of $20 withi the local Hudson County area. There is very limited off-street parking on Park Avenue.


Beyti Kebab has a Halal meat market and grocery store next door. The market and grocery offers imported products from Turkey and specializes in fresh cuts of certified Halal meat such as beef, lamb, veal, goat and chicken. Beyti Kebab also has a bakery in Clifton, N.J., that offers traditional Turkish pastries such as baklava.

Turkish Kitchen


Turkish Kitchen is an authentic Turkish restaurant that specializes in traditional kebab, chicken, lamb and eggplant entrees as well as Turkish beverages. It is located in River Edge, N.J., 20 miles from Newark. Sweet pastries include Turkish custard, rice pudding, baklava and kataifi. The restaurant is available for private catering or parties of up to 105 guests, and offers take-out. It features a casual environment with live entertainment such as belly dancers and Turkish entertainers on Saturday nights after 9.30 p.m.

Kervan Kebab House Restaurant


Kervan Kebab House restaurant is located in Cliffside Park. It serves a large selection of authentic Turkish cuisine. In the lunch menu, you will find specials such as kebab platters or vegetarian dishes with choice of soup or salad and dessert. There is a wide selection of cold and hot appetizers, soups, salads and desserts to choose from. The dinner menu includes chef's specials such as karni yarik (stuffed eggplant with ground meat, onions, tomatoes and peppers with rice) or lamb sautee (lamb with mushrooms and rice in a special sauce) as well as seafood dishes such as salmon or imported anchovies or shrimp kebab.


Kervan Kebab House restaurant is available for private catering or parties of up to 70 guests, and offers take-out . Delivery is free with a minimum order of $20 within Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Fairview, Fort Lee, Palisades Park and Ridgefield. Kervan Kebab House restaurant is open from noon to 9:30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and from noon to 10:30 p.m. from Fridays to Saturdays. Public parking is available.
