Make Macaroni Salad For A Theater Prop

Make stage props that resemble macaroni salad for your theater production.

You never know what you might need as a theater prop. Even macaroni salad could show up in your theater production. You can make fake macaroni salad that will look and even scoop just like the real thing. Under theater lights, you won't be able to tell the difference between the macaroni salad you made as a theater prop and real macaroni salad. Just be careful you don't eat it by mistake.

Instructions

Macaroni Salad in a Bowl

1. Roll out long pieces of modeling clay the same thickness of macaroni noodles. Cut the noodles the size of macaroni noodles with a knife. Curve each modeling clay noodle slightly. Fill 5 cups full of noodles and put the noodles in a bowl.

2. Mix half a cup of oil and half a cup of white acrylic paint together. Place mixture into the bowl with the noodles.

3. Add small bits of orange, green and red modeling clay to represent vegetables such as chopped carrots, celery and red peppers. Stir the mixture together with a white spoon. This theater prop looks like the real thing and can be scooped.

Macaroni Salad on a Plate

4. Paste a fist full of cotton balls on a plate using a lot of white glue. Glue a piece of pale yellow material just large enough to cover the piece of cotton again using a generous amount of white glue. Let the glue dry overnight.

5. Glue pieces of macaroni all over the surface of the material using a hot glue gun. Use a thick brush to dab a thin layer of light orange paint over the macaroni pieces and material. Allow the paint to dry for an hour.

6. Glue on small bits of orange, green and red paper with white glue to represent chopped vegetables such as carrots, celery and red peppers with a hot glue gun. Use as a theater prop.
