Make Minted Green Peas With Mushrooms And Onions

Don't tell me you don't like green peas until you have tasted this dish! This minted green pea dish, fixed with mushrooms and onions, is extremely good and is also good for you. It complements any meat or can stand alone as a vegetarian delight.

Instructions

Prepare Your Ingredients

1. Prepare your ingredients just before you are ready to cook them. Peel and finely chop an onion. Rinse and slice the mushrooms into thick pieces. Strip the mint leaves from the stems and chop them into small pieces. Thaw the frozen green peas.

2. Melt a stick of real butter in a saucepan or frying pan. Add the chopped onions, the minced garlic, and the sliced mushrooms. Stir fry these ingredients in the butter until both the mushrooms and the onions begin to brown.

3. Pour the thawed bag of green peas into the pan. Gently stir until the peas are hot. Be careful not to damage the peas while they are cooking. As the peas heat they will become even more green. Don't let them get mushy or burn.

4. Toss in the chopped mint leaves. Stir gently to combine the mint with the other ingredients. Serve hot with salt and pepper nearby so that each diner can adjust the flavor to taste.
