Build A Pig Roaster

Roasting a pig is a tradition in many cultures. It is a staple of an authentic luau. After all, pork is the other white meat. However, you will not be able to roast a whole pig on your ordinary barbecue grill. They typically weigh between sixty to one hundred pounds at butcher weight. Therefore, you will need to build a special pit in order to roast your pig to perfection.

Instructions

Building a Pig Roaster

1. Choose the location for your roaster. Any spot in your yard will work just fine.

2. Lay out the roaster with concrete blocks. You will want to make a rectangle two blocks wide by four blocks long. You can buy the cinder blocks at your local hardware store for about one dollar each.

3. Stack the blocks on top of one another two blocks high. Be careful to stack the blocks evenly so that they are balanced.

4. Cover the ground and the existing blocks with aluminum foil.

5. Stack another two blocks on top of the existing blocks making your roaster a total of four blocks in height.

6. Start your fire, and roast that pig!
