Replacing trane weathertron thermostat with honeywell th3210d10

Replacing Trane Weathertron Thermostat with Honeywell TH3210D10

Hi, I'm trying to replace my old mercury Trane Thermostat with a Honeywell TH3210D1004 , and have run into some problems. First off, the wires I have don't match up with the ones that are listed in the new Thermostats instructions. I have: R T O G Y X2 B W jumpered to U F not used. 2 wires that weren't connect (one pink and one tan/gray). The new Thermostat has connections for: E Emergency heat relay Aux Aux. heat relay Y Compressor contactor G Fan relay O Heat pump changeover valve energized in cooling L Heat pump reset R Power wire from secondary side of system transformer B Heat pump changeover valve energized in heating C Common wire from secondary side of system transformer Please tell me wire this thermostat. Thanks in advance! I have added additional information to my first post. Hi, I have a XL 1400 Trane with one stage cooling and two stage heating. I'm trying to replace my old mercury Trane Thermostat Baystat 240 A/ 3AAT82B1B1 with a Honeywell TH3210D1004 , and have run into some problems. First off, the wires I have don't match up with the ones that are listed in the new Thermostats instructions. I have: R red wire T brown wire O orange wire G green wire Y yellow wire X2 black wire B blue wire W jumpered to U white wire F not used. 2 wires that weren't connect (one pink and one tan/gray). The new Thermostat has connections for: E Emergency heat relay Aux Aux. heat relay Y Compressor contactor G Fan relay O Heat pump changeover valve energized in cooling L Heat pump reset R Power wire from secondary side of system transformer B Heat pump changeover valve energized in heating C Common wire from secondary side of system transformer Please tell me wire this thermostat. Hello and welcome aboard.. Sorry for the delay getting to you. Old-------New R-red--------R O-orange----O G-green-----G Y-yellow-----Y X2-black-----E B-blue-------C W-white----Aux F and T not used anymore, just tape/cut the wire and tuck back into the wall. For the Set up Function, 6-3 (I'm guessing you have electric back up?) 8-3 (I know the book says 9 for both 6 and 8, ignore that and set it to 3) 9-2 14-0 15-5 Anything else, let me know. Hi Jay, Sorry for the interruption on the thread, I have a similar issue. I'm trying to replace a 15yr+ White Rodgers mercury thermostat with an Honeywell RTH 7600D. The old connections on the White Rodgers are as follow; G= Green Wire R= Red Wire W2= White Wire C= Blue Wire O= Orange Wire Y= Yellow Wire E= Brown Wire I installed the Honeywell RTH7600D once already but when in cool mode is provides hot air. I went ahead and put the old WR back and workd normally now. I would love to use the new HW7600D but not sure if I'm wiring something incorrectly or if I should program the system after the connection are complete. I have an electric Carrier Furnace (I think 1978) or heat pump not sure really. Model 40A0024300EH Serial: D8A88782 Any help would be wonderful! Thanks Jay, Per your setup instructions for item 6, the unit has emergency heat strips. I live in eastern NC, does the 3 still apply for 6 and 8? ____________________________________________________ Hi, I have a XL 1400 Trane with one stage cooling and two stage heating. Hello, Old---------New G= Green----G R= Red-------Rh/Rc (jumper between the two) W2= White---Aux C= Blue------C O= Orange---O/B Y= Yellow----Y E= Brown---E Advance system settings. 120 to 150 you can figure it out. 170 - 7 240, 270 - 3 Ask me if you have questions on rest of the settings. I installed the Honeywell RTH7600D once already but when in cool mode is provides hot air. . If this happens, go into the settings and change 190 to 1 if it was set to 0. Originally Posted by tehales Jay, Per your setup instructions for item 6, the unit has emergency heat strips. I live in eastern NC, does the 3 still apply for 6 and 8? Yes, 3 is what lot of service tech suggest.. This is the cycle per hour settings... So if you set it to 9, it may cycle up to 9 times an hour vs 3 times at 50% load. 9 is way too often for something to cycle on and off.. 3 is better and will give more comfort. Jay, Thanks for helping me! I ran the system test, as far as I know everything checks out. The unit cools, heats, and the emergency heat is working. Is there any way to check if the aux. heat is working. I really could not tell if there was additional heat comming out of the vents. My old thermostat had a blue light that indicated the aux. heat had kicked on. Again, I really appreciate the help. Tom Glad to hear it all working out. You'll have run it in regular heat mode, and bump the t-stat a few degree above set point, you may see Aux' on the the screen. This may not be the best thread to post this, but I am having the same problem as beckyeddie. After running new wire, Installed an EcoFactor thermostat, and while in heat or cool mode only getting heat. Put the old Thermostat in and its working fine after the rewire just to try and rule that out. Trane WCC048F100BE /1998 Heat Pump Model I am going to try the wiring as stated above and see if that works. This thread is the closest I can find across the searchable web to my problem even though the equipment is different. Any advice would be great Myke, Please start your own thread as your replacement thermostat is not the same as the OP's and can cause confusion for anyone trying to help you. Typically when it comes to low voltage wiring it depends on the make and model of equipment each person is working with so a thread should be started for each person's problem to avoid confusion.
