Troubleshoot An Electrolux Dishwasher

Electrolux dishwashers save time and labor by handling the daily chore of washing dishes. This kitchen appliance is well constructed and will render years of service, provided it is properly maintained and operated. However, at some time, your Electrolux dishwasher may experience a minor problem. If so, these easy troubleshooting methods may assist in resolving the problem without having to call a repairman.

Instructions

Dishwasher Will Not Start

1. Make sure the unit has power by checking your fuse box or circuit breaker and resetting the breaker or replacing a blown fuse, if necessary.

2. Make sure the plug for the unit is properly inserted in the outlet.

3. Be sure the dishwasher door is properly closed and nothing is obstructing the activation switch.

Dishwasher Will Not Fill with Water

4. Check the water source to make sure the tap to the dishwasher is open and water is flowing properly.

5. Check the inlet hose filter for blockages and clear them, if necessary.

6. Examine the inlet hose for any kinks or breaks and reposition or replace the hose as needed.

Dishwasher Will Not Drain

7. Check the drain hose for any kinks or breaks and reposition or replace the hose as needed.

8. Examine the sink for any blockages and clear them as needed.

9. Ensure that a vent is installed in the end of the drain hose and that it is clear.

Dishes Are Not Clean

10. Check the baskets to see if the dishwasher is overloaded or improperly loaded. Remove any excess dishes and reorganize the dishes in the unit.

11. Ensure that the spray arm is not being obstructed by dishes in the washer. Clear the obstruction as needed.

12. Check for clogs in the strap arm and the filters and clear them. Also, make sure the filter is properly positioned.

13. Check to see that enough detergent is being used during a washing cycle, and that the salt container is filled and the cap is properly replaced.

Other Problems

14. If the door will not close properly, make sure it is not obstructed by dishes.

15. If the wash cycle is noisy, reorganize the dishes in the washer.

16. If the dishes are damp, remove them sooner after the wash cycle has completed. The warm dishes will air-dry faster.
