Bosch Dishwasher Installation Instructions

Installation tools

Bosch sells a variety of dishwashers. The main differences between them include concealed or visible controls, their color and the number of programs they offer. The installation of all models, though, is basically the same, but depending on the specific model you purchase, there may be some additional steps to install your dishwasher.

Placing the Dishwasher

When you place your Bosch dishwasher in the correct location, align the electrical supply cable and the hot water supply line with their channels under the base of the unit. Make sure the machine is close enough to the opening to ensure that you can run the drain hose to the drain connection under the sink. Slowly slide the dishwasher into the enclosure. Verify that the supply line and supply cable stay in the proper channels. The dishwasher must be level. Refer to your manual (see References) on adjust the levelers.

Rubber Drain Hose Installation

You can actually connect the drain hose to your home's plumbing four different ways. The drain hose can be connected directly to the dishwasher drain connection under your sink. It can be attached directly to the disposer dishwasher drain connection. The drain hose can also be attached to the undersink dishwasher drain connection via an air gap. Finally, the drain hose can be connected to the dishwasher drain house using an air gap.

Hot Water Connection

It is important to ensure that you have purchased the correct 90-degree elbow fitting (which does not come with your dishwasher) for the hot water supply line. Refer to the Dishwasher Preparation section of your owner's manual for install it properly on your model. You can connect the hot water supply line to the dishwasher with either a braided hose or with copper tubing. If you use a braided dishwasher supply hose, turn on the hot water supply once all the connections are secure to check for leaks. If you select the copper tubing option, ensure that all solder connections (if you are using them instead of a compression fitting) are made before connecting the water line to the dishwasher. Flush the copper hot water supply line with hot water before you connect it to the unit.
