Adjust A Delta Water Pressure Regulator

Water pressure is a major concern for homeowners. If the water pressure is too high, valves like faucets and shower heads quickly wear out and leak, but if the water pressure is too low, it can cause slow water flow. Whether too high or too low, many homeowners prefer to adjust their water pressure themselves in order to attain their desired water pressure preference.

Instructions

1. Locate the valve by following your building's main water pipe. The valve is bell-shaped and usually located several feet away from where the water pipe enters your house.

2. Unlock the valve with the pliers. Locate the lock nut which secures the center bolt (the one sticking straight out of the valve), and use the pliers to turn it one to two turns to the left.

3. Adjust the bolt with the screwdriver. Turn the bolt to the right to increase water pressure or to the left to decrease water pressure. Make small adjustments before checking the pressure at a nearby faucet. Very small turns make significant changes.

4. Lock the valve by tightening the valve's lock nut with the pliers.
