Keep A Trampoline Pad From Drying Out

A trampoline doesn't consist of a lot of parts. It's basically a base frame, springs, a jumping mat, a safety pad and possibly a safety enclosure. The safety pad is most important, because it covers the frame and the springs. That way, jumpers on the trampoline can't fall onto the bare metal frame or through the springs and get injured. To keep a trampoline pad in good shape, it needs some care. It's especially important to keep it from drying out, cracking and coming apart.

Instructions

1. Wipe a trampoline pad clean with a soft rag moistened with plain water for general care. Don't use harsh cleaners on the vinyl material as they can dry it out and damage it.

2. Use a vinyl cleaner/conditioner to clean and help protect the vinyl during the hot summer months. Follow the instructions on the bottle to achieve the best results. Basically, you'll wipe the vinyl cleaner/conditioner on and buff the vinyl dry.

3. Use a manufactured cover to protect the trampoline pad from damaging UV rays when it's not in use. A cover helps keep the pad from drying out and extends the life of the pad.

4. Sweep the snow off the trampoline pad as well as the rest of the parts during winter months. This will help keep the weight of the snow from damaging the springs. It will also help protect the pad from drying out. Super-Fun Trampolines recommends that the trampoline pad, mat and springs be stored inside if you don't want to bother with sweeping off the snow.
