Send A Gerbera Daisy Plant

Sending a gerbera daisy plant is easier than you may think.

You can send gerbera daisy plants to someone special in your life. Available in colors such as orange, yellow or red, daisies symbolize cheerfulness and beauty, according to Pro Flowers. Sending the daisy plant yourself is less expensive than ordering from a floral shop or online flower delivery service. Packing them correctly will protect the daisy plant during transit.

Instructions

1. Obtain a gerbera daisy plant in a plastic flower pot from a local nursery or floral shop, with the mesh still covering the blooms.

2. Water the daisy plant the day before you plan to send it, letting the water drain out completely in the sink. This will allow the soil to stay moist during transit.

3. Wrap newspaper around the pot to secure the soil from spilling and keep the soil moist.

4. Put the newspaper-wrapped pot in a plastic bag and secure the bag around the stem of the daisy plant with twine or yarn.

5. Secure the daisy plant inside a cardboard corrugated divider that will fit inside the shipping box. The divider will lock the pot in place at the bottom of the shipping box, preventing movement inside of the box, recommends Federal Express.

6. Place the corrugated divider and daisy plant inside the shipping box. Add a greeting card and tissue paper to fill any remaining space for added protection in the box.

7. Close the box, and secure with packaging tape. Address it appropriately and send the package via overnight mail for fast delivery.

Tips Warnings

You can obtain a cardboard corrugated divider along with the shipping box that goes with it at a shipping center or office supply store.

Do not send the package late in the week or on a weekend, to prevent the box having to sit in a shipping center for a few days.
