Program A Uniden Bearcat 10bank Scanner

Plan for fire-department frequencies to go into one bank.

A channel, consisting of a frequency, is programmed into channel-storage banks. The banks are used to group similar frequencies; for example, a fire department's Dispatch, Command and Tactical frequencies. Many Uniden Bearcat scanners have 10 banks, and each bank can store 20 channels. The first bank starts at Channel 1 and ends at Channel 19, the second banks starts at Channel 20 and runs to Channel 39, and so on. Programming a Uniden Bearcat 10-bank scanner can be accomplished by following some steps.

Instructions

1. Plan your bank allocation. If your area's fire department has three frequencies, and the sheriff's department has two frequencies, plan the allocation. For example, you could plan for fire frequencies to go into one bank--for instance, Bank 1 using Channels 1, 2 and 3--with the sheriff's frequencies going into another bank--for example, Bank 2 using Channels 20 and 21.

2. Press Hold and enter the first channel number, for example, 1. Then press Func and Pgm. The channel number will appear on the display.

3. Enter the frequency using the numerical keys. Don't forget the decimal point. For example, enter 123.1234, and then press the E key.

4. Press Func and E to program the next channel in the sequence. Enter the frequency using the numerical keys. For example, enter 223.1234, and then press the E key. Continue this process until the bank contains all the channels you want.

5. Press Hold and enter the first channel number of the second bank, for example, 20. Then press Func and Pgm. The channel number will appear on the display. Enter the frequency, followed by E. Press Func and E to program the next channel in the sequence. Continue this process until the bank contains the channels you want.
