Tybee Island
If you wish to get married on white sands next to salty waves with a historic lighthouse as the backdrop, Tybee Island is the perfect venue in Georgia. According to the Weddings of Tybee Island's website, you can get married on almost all of the three miles of public beach. Just 18 miles from Savannah, Tybee provides access to this major urban area while providing a comfortable island community for your event. The mild weather grants you the opportunity to host your outside wedding and honeymoon anytime of year.
For weddings that do not require a reserved space, you can have the event at any time without permission. If your wedding will have more than 75 people, include vendors and require public services such as garbage receptacles, you will need to contact the City of Tybee ahead of time to request a Special Events permit. The Special Events application must be submitted 60 days prior to the event along with a $50 application fee.

Chateau Elan Winery and Resort
For an outside Georgia wedding that is elegant and sophisticated, Chateau Elan's 3,500 acres of mock French countryside nestled in the Georgia foothills make the perfect setting. According to the Chateau Elan website, the 16th-century-style French chateau is the largest winery in Georgia. Located 40 miles north of Atlanta, this golf resort hosts outside weddings for intimate parties of fewer than 25 guests and up to the maximum of 400 people. Venues include the Chateau lawn, Matisse lawn and the vineyards. Packages are available for both evening or afternoon events and include every aspect of the wedding planning, such as the menu consultation, a liaison for all vendors, and scheduling for the wedding arrangements. Every detail is covered by the chateau, including what you expect for the social atmosphere, accommodations for all of the wedding guests, and the wedding rehearsal dinner.

Gin Creek Plantation
Gin Creek Plantation specializes in southern classic fairy tale weddings. Surrounded by statuesque oak trees and weeping willows, you can get married beneath a lakeside white gazebo or a 36-foot-wide pergola extended over DeMott Lake. Located in Southern Georgia 35 miles from Albany, the plantation offers affordable wedding packages starting at $750 for a wedding with 20 guests (excluding the bridal party), and includes the venue, catered reception and honeymoon night accommodations. Available wedding party services include transportation in an antique Rolls-Royce limo or a horse-drawn carriage, a professional DJ, photographer, catering service that also bakes cakes, and lodging in rustic cabins next to the lake.
